Hon. Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, has resigned as the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry with immediate effect.

This comes on the back of enormous pressure from the public calling for his resignation after the Tema West MP on July 2, 2020, granted various interviews admitting he had broken isolation to visit registration centres because he was asymptomatic.

In a statement signed by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Presidency, H. E. Nana Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana, accepted his resignation and admonished his appointees to set good examples as leaders in the fight against COVID-19 by adhering at all times to COVID-19 protocols.
