Former Accra Hearts of Oak left back Acquah Harrison has revealed that players exit the national team prematurely due to issues of poor management.
The CAF Confederations Cup winner added that, players sign out of the Black Stars unhappy because the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has failed to recognize and honor their effort and contribution to the success of the national team.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s Ka Wadwen Sports Show, the assistant coach of Sekondi Hassacas believes it’s about time Stakeholders in the football fraternity give players a befitting farewell after their service to the nation.
“If I look at our current Black Stars, there is always an issue with players and management”
“Players are not recognized for their hard work and this has forced a lot of them to retire with pain and regret”, he indicated.
I think it’s about time we honor our heroes and give them a proper send-off when they leave the Black Stars”, he concluded
Harrison had a glittering career with Hearts of Oak where he was key figure in the squad that triumphed over rivals Asante Kotoko to win the maiden edition of the CAF Confederation competition in 2004.
