The Ghana Education Service (GES) has cancelled the two-day mid-term break scheduled for basic schools on November 5 and 6, 2026.
The decision, according to the GES, forms part of efforts to recover instructional hours lost during the recent industrial action.
In a notice issued by the GES Headquarters and signed by Daniel Fenyi, Management directed all basic schools to remain open and conduct normal academic activities on Thursday, November 5, and Friday, November 6.
The Service has therefore urged teachers, students, parents, guardians and the general public to take note of the directive and be guided accordingly.
GES expressed appreciation to stakeholders for their cooperation and continued commitment to quality education.
