Management of Intercity State Transport Coaches Limited (Intercity STC) has interdicted a driver captured in a viral social media video allegedly involved in an unsafe overtaking manoeuvre at Pokuase in Accra.

In a public notice issued on Friday, October 16, 2026, the company said it had become aware of footage showing one of its buses attempting to overtake a sprinter bus, making contact with it and subsequently driving away from the scene.

The company condemned the driver’s conduct, describing it as unacceptable and inconsistent with the safety standards and professionalism it upholds.

Management said it had commenced an immediate investigation into the incident and interdicted the driver pending the outcome of the disciplinary process.

It added that it was awaiting an official report from the Pokuase Police Command to help establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Intercity STC reaffirmed its commitment to passenger safety and responsible road use, thanking members of the public for bringing the incident to its attention.

The company assured stakeholders that appropriate action would be taken following the investigation.
