Ghana’s Black Stars are set to face Morocco in an international friendly in Tangier on October 4, following the cancellation of a proposed September meeting with Tanzania.
The fixture will provide head coach Carlos Queiroz with another opportunity to assess his squad ahead of Ghana’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign.
The Black Stars are scheduled to begin their qualifying campaign against Côte d’Ivoire on September 24 before taking on The Gambia on September 27.
Morocco, meanwhile, will start their own AFCON qualifying campaign against Gabon on September 25 and travel to face Lesotho four days later.
The Atlas Lions have already announced their squad for the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Gabon and Lesotho, as well as the October friendly against Ghana.
The proposed change in Ghana’s friendly schedule means the Black Stars will travel to Morocco for the October 4 encounter instead of facing Tanzania as initially planned.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is yet to officially announce Ghana’s upcoming friendly fixtures.
