Prophet Isaac Asante has cautioned people against seeking revenge in their relationships and marriages, warning that retaliation can have serious physical and spiritual consequences.
Speaking on Nyansapɔ Fie on Plan B FM, hosted by Akosua Gyamfua, Prophet Asante explained that revenge is often deliberate and can manifest in different forms. He therefore urged people to exercise restraint when dealing with hurt, betrayal or disappointment in their relationships.
Addressing concerns about partners who suddenly stop answering calls, Prophet Asante said such behaviour should not automatically be interpreted as an act of revenge. He explained that it could instead indicate that the person has lost interest in the relationship.
According to him, genuine love is accompanied by care, compassion and passion, and when these qualities are no longer present, it may be a sign of deeper problems in the relationship.
He advised individuals who notice such red flags to consider addressing the situation or ending the relationship peacefully rather than attempting to hurt their partners in return.
On infidelity in marriage, Prophet Asante urged couples not to retaliate when a partner cheats.
He said if a person is unable to forgive an unfaithful partner, it would be better to leave the marriage than deliberately engage in similar behaviour as a form of revenge.
He warned that what may initially appear to be a one-time act of retaliation could lead to serious consequences and create problems far beyond what the individual originally intended.
Prophet Asante also urged parents not to transfer their anger and frustrations to innocent children because of conflicts between couples.
While acknowledging that betrayal can cause deep emotional pain and that people should be careful about judging how others respond to hurt, he stressed the need for individuals to avoid deliberately inflicting pain on others.
He further noted that while society often focuses on advising people against revenge, equal attention should be given to those whose actions push others towards seeking retaliation.
Prophet Asante described revenge as something that can develop into a destructive spirit and encouraged people to embrace forgiveness, open communication and peaceful solutions when dealing with conflicts in relationships and marriages.
He stressed that retaliation rarely resolves the underlying problem and urged couples and individuals to choose peace rather than revenge.
