The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has announced the full restoration of power supply to all areas affected by a system disturbance on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

According to GRIDCo, its engineers, together with technical teams from across the power sector, commenced restoration efforts immediately after the disturbance was recorded.

The company said power supply to all affected areas had been fully restored by 12:03 p.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026.

In a statement issued by its Corporate Communications Section, GRIDCo expressed appreciation to stakeholders and the public for their cooperation, patience and support throughout the restoration process.

The transmission company further assured the public that it would continue to implement measures aimed at strengthening the reliability, stability and resilience of Ghana’s transmission network.

The latest update follows Thursday’s system disturbance, which resulted in power interruptions in several parts of the country.

GRIDCo is responsible for the economic dispatch and transmission of electricity from wholesale suppliers, including Independent Power Producers (IPPs), to bulk customers and distribution utilities in Ghana and West Africa.
