Residents and businesses in parts of the Accra East Region are expected to experience temporary power interruptions this week as the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) undertakes a four-day planned maintenance exercise.

The exercise begins today, Monday, August 10, and will continue through Thursday, August 13, with outages scheduled between 9:00am and 5:00pm each day.

ECG says the maintenance works are aimed at improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply in the affected communities.

Today’s outage will affect Teiman, Oyarifa, Mr Smith, parts of Ogbodjo, Tsmasiwaa Hospital, Ability and adjoining areas.

On Tuesday, August 11, the exercise will move to Ashiyie, parts of Dodowa, Tobinco, Oasis Estate, Manet Junction and surrounding communities.

The affected areas on Wednesday, August 12, will include parts of Labone, Agbogba Zongo, Adenta SDA, Tot-to-teen School, Top Herbal Clinic, parts of Madina, Libya Quarters and nearby communities.

The final phase on Thursday, August 13, will affect Achimota School and surrounding areas.

ECG has advised customers within the affected areas to plan ahead and make the necessary arrangements for the scheduled interruptions.

The company has apologised for the inconvenience, noting that the temporary outages are necessary to facilitate maintenance works intended to strengthen electricity service delivery.
