President John Dramani Mahama has nominated two Members of Parliament for ministerial appointments and reassigned two serving ministers in a cabinet reshuffle, subject to parliamentary approval.
In a statement issued by the Presidency on Friday, August 7, 2026, the President, in accordance with Article 78(1) of the 1992 Constitution, submitted the names of the nominees to Parliament through the Speaker for prior approval.
Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, MP, has been nominated as Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, while Mahama Ayariga, MP, has been nominated as Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs.
The President has also reassigned Hon. Kenneth Gilbert Adjei to head the Ministry of Defense, while Ahmed Ibrahim, MP, has been moved to the Ministry of Works, Housing and Water Resources.
The Presidency said the nominations have been forwarded to Parliament for consideration and approval.
