The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has secured a High Court order to freeze the assets of New Patriotic Party (NPP) stalwart Dennis Miracles Aboagye as part of ongoing investigations into alleged corruption-related offences.
The court order, obtained on August 3, 2026, covers several bank accounts and properties reportedly owned by the NPP communicator and aide to the party’s flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
According to a Joy News report, the assets frozen under the court order include:
1.Five bank accounts, with all transactions on the accounts suspended.
2.A seven-bedroom residential property at Larteh in the Eastern Region.
3.A two-bedroom residential property at Spintex in Accra.
4.A residential apartment complex at Adjiringanor in Accra.
5.Fifteen acres of land at Larteh in the Eastern Region.
The freezing order forms part of EOCO’s ongoing investigations into allegations against Aboagye.
According to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Miracles Aboagye was arrested after its officers uncovered significant new findings last week in connection with suspected fraud and theft as part of ongoing investigations into the alleged misappropriation of about GH¢55 million at the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation (IMCCoD).
The Office said Miracles Aboagye was already aware of the investigation and had previously appeared before EOCO. He was subsequently placed on a stop order to prevent him from travelling in a manner that could interfere with the investigation.
However, the NPP stalwart denied the allegations, stating that he was only questioned about GH¢5 million.
Meanwhile, the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee on Decentralisation Secretariat has alleged that its former Executive Secretary, Miracles Aboagye, requested the removal of portions of a forensic audit report, including findings relating to a bank account that recorded transactions amounting to GH¢102,256,802.69.
According to a statement issued by the Secretariat on July 27, 2026, Mircales Aboagye requested a meeting held on July 18, 2025, at the office of one of his lawyers.
The meeting was attended by the current Executive Secretary, following an invitation conveyed through the lawyer and a mutual friend.
