The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has destooled the Paramount Chief of Kenyase No. 2, Nana Kwabena Nsia Ababio, following findings of violations of Asante customs and traditions.
The decision was announced during an Asanteman Traditional Council meeting held on Monday, July 27, 2026, after the council’s deliberations on the matter.
The action also affected nearly all the kingmakers of the Kenyase No. 2 Traditional Council, who were found to have breached their oaths of office.
However, the Asantehene exercised discretion by sparing the Kontihene from the decision and reinstating the destooled Akyeame and other linguists within the traditional council.
The move reinforces the authority of the Asanteman Traditional Council and highlights the importance placed on upholding customs, traditions and the responsibilities that come with occupying traditional leadership positions.
