The National Communications Authority (NCA) has announced a pre-application briefing for prospective applicants seeking spectrum licences in the 700 MHz, 2.3 GHz and 3 GHz mid bands for the provision of mobile broadband services, including 5G.
The briefing, scheduled for Monday, July 27, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the NCA Tower in Accra, follows the Authority’s invitation for applications issued on July 16, 2026.
According to the NCA, the session will provide eligible applicants and interested parties with an opportunity to seek clarification on the Request for Applications (RFA) and the selection and award process.
Key areas to be addressed include the available spectrum lots, eligibility requirements, application procedures, rollout obligations and the evaluation process.
The Authority indicated that participation is limited to eligible entities such as licensed Mobile Network Operators, Mobile Virtual Network Operators, Broadband Wireless Access Providers, Internet Service Providers and 100% Ghanaian-owned new entrants, subject to the requirements outlined in the RFA.
Prospective applicants interested in attending are required to pre-register with the NCA by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 24, 2026, through the Authority’s official email, with attendance subject to confirmation.
The NCA said the Request for Applications and the Selection and Award Procedure documents are available on its website, as it continues efforts to expand Ghana’s broadband infrastructure and support the rollout of advanced mobile services.
