Tema Parents Association School has celebrated academic excellence, discipline and outstanding achievement at its annual Awards and Recognition Day, with students, teachers, parents and alumni being honoured for their remarkable contributions to the school.

The event brought together the school’s management, members of the 1976 Year Group, parents, guardians and invited guests to recognise exceptional performances from the preschool, primary and junior high school sections.

Among the highlights of the ceremony was the presentation of the Overall Best Form Two Student Award to Etornam Geovana for her exceptional academic performance during the academic year.

The Headmistress, Madam Docia Abakosoyo Addison, also presented a special award to Terel in recognition of his outstanding performance in an international competition. He is expected to travel abroad to represent the school in the next stage of the competition.

Delivering her remarks, the Head of Academics, Mrs. Felicia Baidoo, described the occasion as a celebration of excellence, perseverance and outstanding achievement. She encouraged students to continue striving for greater success, stressing that hard work, commitment and discipline always yield rewards.

The guest speaker and leader of the 1976 Year Group, Mrs. Lovia Boateng, said the celebration was an opportunity to honour the institution that laid the foundation for their lives.

She recounted that although she left Tema Parents Association School at an early age following her father’s diplomatic posting abroad, the school has always held a special place in her heart.

Speaking on behalf of the 1976 Year Group, Mrs. Boateng thanked the school authorities for warmly welcoming the alumni back to their alma mater. She also commended teachers and parents for their unwavering dedication to nurturing generations of successful students.

Another guest speaker, Dr. May Wulff, also a member of the 1976 Year Group, reflected on the lasting impact the school had on her life. She said the values of discipline, hard work and integrity she acquired at Tema Parents Association School remained with her even after continuing her education at Aburi Girls’ Senior High School.

Dr. Wulff urged the students to remain focused on their education and congratulated all the award recipients for their achievements.

The ceremony also saw the Headmistress present special awards to several members of staff in recognition of their unwavering dedication, commitment and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the school.

Students from the preschool through to the Junior High School received awards for excellence in academics, leadership, sports and good conduct.

A special tribute featuring poetry recitals and performances was held in honour of retired teachers and old students to appreciate their immense contributions and enduring legacy to the school.

The event formed part of activities marking the end of the academic year and served as an inspiration to students to continue pursuing excellence in all their endeavours.
