The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully contained a fire outbreak at Adonten Senior High School in the Eastern Region, preventing what could have been extensive damage to the school’s science block.

According to the GNFS, firefighters from the Aburi and Akropong Fire Stations responded swiftly to the incident and brought the blaze under control before it could spread further.
The fire destroyed the House Master’s office, a storeroom, and several school items, including office equipment, books, uniforms, and electronic devices. However, firefighters managed to salvage library books and gardening tools from the affected area.
Before the arrival of the fire service, staff and students had attempted to put out the flames.
No injuries or fatalities were recorded. The cause of the fire remains unknown and is currently under investigation by the Ghana National Fire Service.
