Governance advocate Thomas Aryetey has described corruption as a persistent challenge that cuts across successive governments, arguing that the problem is deeply rooted in Ghana’s system of public administration rather than being unique to any one political party.
Speaking on Plan B FM’s EBAANOSEN programme with Ohene Kennah, Mr. Aryetey expressed concern over what he sees as a recurring pattern of corruption under every administration.
According to him, regardless of which government assumes office, allegations and concerns over the misuse of public resources continue to emerge, raising serious questions about transparency, accountability and effective governance.
Mr. Aryetey maintained that the issue goes beyond individual governments and reflects systemic weaknesses that require sustained institutional reforms.
He stressed the need for stronger accountability mechanisms and prudent management of public resources to break the cycle of corruption and restore public confidence in governance.
