The Ghana Police Service has cautioned final-year SHS students to celebrate responsibly when the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) ends on Friday, June 19, 2026.
The police, in a statement, warned that acts of violence, vandalism, and other unlawful conduct will not be tolerated, and anyone caught will be arrested and prosecuted.
The Service reminded students that criminal behaviour could permanently jeopardise their futures and undo years of hard academic work.
The warning comes after two recent incidents of student violence in the Upper East Region.
Two students were arrested at Zebilla Senior High Technical School in connection with the arson of a teacher’s apartment, while four students were arrested at Bawku Senior High School for rioting, assaulting school staff, and destroying school and private property.
The Ghana Police Service urged students, parents, guardians, and school authorities to work together to promote a culture of discipline, respect, and peace.
