Police declare Arabic teacher wanted over alleged defilement case in Western Region

Police declare Arabic teacher wanted over alleged defilement case in Western Region
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Western Regional Police Command has declared a man identified as Sule Anas, an Arabic teacher, wanted in connection with allegations of defilement and unnatural carnal knowledge involving two minors at Fijai Zongo Central near Sekondi.

According to police sources, the suspect was engaged by community leaders at Fijai Zongo Central to teach children Arabic on weekends. Investigations indicate that he allegedly lured the victims into a storeroom within a mosque under the guise of conducting spiritual cleansing rituals, where the offences are said to have occurred.

A warrant for his arrest was issued on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, by the Gender Court in Sekondi. Police have described the suspect as fair in complexion and approximately 5.7 feet tall.

Security authorities further believe the suspect may have fled the country and could be hiding in either Côte d’Ivoire or Togo.

The Western Regional Command is urging members of the public with credible information on his whereabouts to assist law enforcement by contacting the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), the nearest police station, or emergency lines 191 or 112.

The police say efforts are ongoing to ensure the suspect is arrested and brought before the court to face justice.
