Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has criticised state authorities over what he describes as the mishandling of a high-profile legal case involving a former public official.
In a Facebook post shared on May 5, 2026, Nkansah reacted to reports that the Attorney-General had withdrawn charges against a former Buffer Stock Company CEO, identified as Hanan, only for him to be re-arrested by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO). “Breaking News: AG withdraws charges against Hanan, former buffer stock CEO as EOCO re-arrests him. These guys don’t know what to do in Court and are only using the security agencies to harass suspects.” He wrote.
Nkansah argued that the sequence of events raises concerns about coordination between legal and investigative institutions, suggesting that the use of security agencies in such circumstances could undermine confidence in the justice system.
His comments add to the ongoing public debate over due process, prosecutorial decisions, and the role of state security bodies in handling high-profile cases.
