The General Jurisdiction 2 division of the High Court in Accra has granted bail to Frederick Kumi, also known as Abu Trica, in the sum of GH¢30 million, with two sureties to be justified.

Abu Trica has been in police custody since his arrest in December 2025, following an extradition request from the United States over alleged romance fraud charges.

The state initially filed proceedings at the District Court, where he was subsequently remanded.
His legal team later filed an application for bail at the High Court.

In an interview with Citi News, Saani Abdul Salam, one of Abu Trica’s lawyers, said steps are being taken to meet the bail conditions.
