Mohammed Kudus set to miss rest of season & World Cup after fresh injury setback

Mohammed Kudus set to miss rest of season & World Cup after fresh injury setback
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Mohammed Kudus’ hopes of featuring at the 2026 FIFA World Cup are in serious doubt after the midfielder suffered a fresh injury setback.

The Tottenham Hotspur player had only recently returned to training following a three-month layoff with a hamstring injury.

However, complications in his recovery could now rule him out for the remainder of the 2025–2026 season. The latest setback may require surgery, a development that would likely sideline him for the World Cup later this year.

“He-Mohammed Kudus- had returned to team training during the past week, however will now require further specialist review and, potentially, surgery” a club statement read.

In his debut campaign with Spurs, Kudus has registered three goals and six assists in 26 appearances across all competitions.

On the national front, Kudus’ latest injury issue raises serious doubt over his availability for the upcoming World Cup, where Ghana is set to compete against Croatia, England, and Panama in Group L.

Kudus scored two goals in three games in his debut World Cup campaign in 2022 and is widely regarded as one of Ghana’s difference makers.
