A 26-year-old sales attendant and her boyfriend have been remanded into custody after police accused them of siphoning more than GH₵5.1 million from a beverage depot in Ho and blowing the proceeds on luxury assets.

The prime suspect, Nerissah Akordor, who reportedly earned just GH₵1,500 monthly, is alleged to have diverted GH₵5.189 million in sales proceeds after being elevated to manage one of the company’s outlets.

Investigators say the stolen funds were channelled into the acquisition of high-end assets, including two Mercedes-Benz vehicles and residential properties.

The alleged scheme was uncovered after a tip-off alerted the company to Akordor’s sudden display of wealth, raising red flags. She was subsequently reassigned before later resigning from her position.

Police later picked up Akordor and her boyfriend, Courage Addo, who is suspected to have received significant portions of the funds through transfers.

During investigations, officers retrieved two vehicles — a Mercedes-Benz C250 and a Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic — believed to have been purchased with the alleged proceeds.

Authorities also traced properties linked to the suspects, including a two-unit chamber and hall self-contained apartment and an uncompleted one-storey building said to be about 90 percent complete.

Both accused persons remain in custody and are expected to reappear in court on April 27, 2026, as investigations continue.
