The Coalition of Unemployed Trained Teachers (CUTT) has raised fresh concerns over the prolonged delay in the posting of trained teachers, calling on government officials to urgently resolve the situation.
Speaking to Ohene Kinnah on Plan B FM’s Ebaanosen, Vice president, Patrick Owusu, he highlighted an ongoing impasse between the Minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, and the Minister of Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson, describing the situation as a major setback in efforts to address teacher unemployment in the country.
He urged both ministers to set aside political differences and prioritize the welfare of trained teachers, particularly those from the 2023 cohort who are yet to be posted.
The group criticized what it described as delays and neglect in fulfilling the government’s responsibility to absorb qualified graduates into the education sector.
He also appealed directly to President John Dramani Mahama to intervene and facilitate a resolution between the two ministries.
According to CUTT, the President must ensure the fulfillment of his promise of automatic posting for trained teachers.
The group warned that failure to take immediate and concrete action could lead to nationwide protests, stressing that the future of Ghana’s youth and the country’s development depends on swift government intervention.
CUTT reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for unemployed teachers and signaled its readiness to escalate the matter if their concerns remain unaddressed.
