The New Patriotic Party (NPP) communicator for Tema Central, Richard Aning, has delivered a blistering critique of President John Dramani Mahama, insisting that the President lacks the moral authority to advise any arm of government.
Speaking on Nkɔsusem on Plan B FM, Mr. Aning declared that President Mahama “has no go area” when it comes to preaching constitutional discipline.
According to him, the President cannot position himself as a defender of institutional independence while allegedly benefiting from decisions affecting one arm of government.
Mr. Aning went further, accusing President Mahama of being the first leader in Ghana’s Fourth Republic to allegedly use what he described as “Machiavellian tactics” in the removal of a Chief Justice — a claim he says raises serious concerns about respect for judicial independence.
He argued that leadership requires consistency, stressing that “you cannot undermine an institution and later turn around to advise others about protecting it.”
The NPP communicator maintained that Ghanaians are watching closely and expect transparency, fairness, and strict adherence to the principle of separation of powers.
