Rev. Benjamin Boateng has cautioned the public against falling into the trap of provocation, noting that many people deliberately provoke others simply to gain attention. According to him, this provocation often comes through words, attitudes, or deliberate actions designed to stir emotions.
He emphasized the importance of emotional regulation, describing it as the ability to control one’s emotions, especially in challenging situations. Rev. Boateng explained that people who fail to manage their anger often end up hurting themselves emotionally. He pointed out that this behavior is commonly seen in children, noting that when children are teased, they easily become emotional and begin to cry.
Rev. Boateng further explained that provocation is sometimes used as a tool for manipulation and entertainment. He observed that some individuals derive pleasure from provoking others, adding that the more angry their target becomes, the more satisfaction they gain. He noted that this trend is especially common among the youth.
In addition, Rev. Boateng touched on the issue of jealousy, explaining that some people intentionally try to make others jealous as a way of attracting attention.
He urged the public to be mindful of such behaviors and to develop emotional control, stressing that understanding these tactics can help individuals avoid unnecessary conflicts and emotional distress
