Anger after patient on admission at Awutu Bereku Health Centre dies while going to buy water

Family Fumes As Dubai Firm Buries Nigerian Man Killed In Factory Accident Without Their Knowledge

Residents of Awutu Bereku in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region have expressed anger at staff of the Awutu Bereku Health Centre after a man on admission reportedly collapsed and died after stepping out to buy sachet water.

Eyewitnesses told Adom News that when the man fell, people nearby rushed to the health facility to alert the nurse on duty to provide first aid. However, they claim no health worker responded immediately to their calls for help.

The health centre is said to be about 15 metres from where the man collapsed, and some residents insist that a prompt response from the staff could have made a difference.

Angry community members have since blamed both the health workers and the police for what they describe as a failure to act swiftly to assist the patient.

Police later conveyed the body to the mortuary as they await the family’s identification to allow investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death.

The incident has sparked tension in the area, with residents calling for accountability from the management of the Awutu Bereku Health Centre.
