The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has successfully contained a warehouse fire at the Ghana Water Company Central Stores at Ashaiman Golf City, preventing it from spreading to nearby facilities. No injuries were recorded, and investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.

The fire broke out in the early hours of Monday, January 19, 2026, and was reported to GNFS at 12:18 a.m. Firefighters arrived within seven minutes and later received support from two additional fire tenders from the Tema Metro and Industrial Area Fire Stations. The blaze was confined at 1:43 a.m., brought under control at 3:22 a.m., and fully extinguished at 3:50 a.m.

The fire destroyed production materials and machine parts in Warehouse D, but firefighters managed to save six workers’ quarters and two other warehouses, identified as Warehouses B and C.

GNFS has commended the quick response and coordination of all personnel involved and assured the public that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
