The 2025 FIFA Best Awards have ended with a lot of talking points over controversial selections and picks as France and Paris Saint-Germain star Ousmane Dembele ended up winning the biggest prize as the Men’s Footballer of the Year Award winner.
Dembele topped the list ahead of FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal to scoop his latest trophy after an outstanding 2024-2025 campaign that has had him win the Ballon D’Or, the UEFA Champions League, French Ligue One and French Cup titles after scoring 35 goals and adding 13 assists in 54 games.
Spain’s Aitana Bonmati of FC Barcelona won her third FIFA Women’s title in a row. Luis Enrique of PSG and former PSG goalkeeper (now with Manchester City) Gianluigi Donnarumma, were named the Coach and Goalkeeper of the Year respectively.
However, the selections to the FIFA XI proved to be more contentious than the individual awards as a handful of top performers missed on getting selected to the elite team.

Mohamed Salah of Liverpool FC won the English Premier League, EPL Golden Boot Award and Best Player Award but didn’t make the team while Raphinha won the Spanish La Liga title, Spanish Cup and the La Liga Player of the Year Award but missed on getting picked for the team.
