The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Maame Efua Houadjeto, has visited victims of the recent incident at the Amedzofe Canopy Walk to express sympathy, offer reassurance, and demonstrate the Authority’s commitment to their well-being.

According to the management of the facility, no deaths were recorded, though some visitors sustained injuries.

GTA is deeply concerned about the incident and is closely monitoring the ongoing investigations being conducted by the relevant authorities. The Authority will communicate the findings and next steps once the investigations are completed.
The CEO extended sincere well-wishes to all affected individuals and their families, emphasising that their safety remains paramount. She noted:

“Our thoughts are with every victim and every family affected by this unfortunate incident. Tourism must be safe and dependable, and we are committed to ensuring that all safety lapses, if any, are fully addressed. Your well-being matters to us.”

As part of her visit, the CEO donated a cash amount and essential items to support the victims during their recovery.

GTA remains dedicated to strengthening safety standards across tourism attractions nationwide and will continue to work with all stakeholders to safeguard the integrity of Ghana’s tourism experience.
