Julius Debrah urges World Cup Committee to uphold transparency and put national interest first

Chief of Staff of the Republic of Ghana Julius Debrah has called on the World Cup Planning Committee to lead with accountability and national consciousness.

He made the call at the launch of the Committee ahead of Ghana’s participation at the 2026 FIFA World Cup that takes place in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

The Committee launch had Sports Minister Kofi Adams and Ghana Football Association (GFA) President Kurt Okraku present where Julius Debrah praised the committee for having football legend Abedi Ayew Pele on it. (Click highlighted text to read full story)

The Chief of Staff added that, “This oversight committee must lead with accountability, speed and national consciousness; the time for scattered effort is over.”

“We cannot afford to enter 2026 with the mindset of 2014 and 2010; let us correct what must be corrected and amplify what must be built. Let us lead with clarity; let us act with urgency, let us project Ghana with discipline and pride.”
