King Etse, an NDC communicator for the Kpone Katamanso Constituency, has praised the 2025 budget presented by Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, describing it as “the best budget ever and a true sign of hope for Ghanaians.”
According to him, the budget marks a clear departure from what he called the “tax-heavy budgets” of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta under the Akufo-Addo administration, which he believes consistently burdened the ordinary Ghanaian.
However, King Etse reserved strong criticism for the Minority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, accusing him of poor conduct and leadership in Parliament. He stated that the posture and behaviour of the Minority Leader are not only unbecoming but also a major factor in the public’s growing disapproval of the NPP.
“If Afenyo-Markin is not aware, he should be told that Ghanaians are watching. The way he carries himself in Parliament is very bad, and he is one of the main reasons Ghanaians voted against the NPP,” he said.
King Etse further warned that if the NPP maintains its current trajectory under Afenyo-Markin’s parliamentary leadership, the party risks performing disastrously in the next election.
“If care is not taken, under Afenyo-Markin as Minority Leader, the NPP may not secure more than 25% of seats in the next Parliament,” he cautioned.
