“Punish those responsible for helicopter fault – Klenam Wornu demands”

Memorial Activities Announced As Gov’t Pays Tribute To Fallen Officials

An NDC communicator for the Kpone Katamanso Constituency, Klenam Wornu, has called for strict accountability following the helicopter tragedy that claimed the lives of government officials.

Speaking on Nkosuo Nsem, Mr. Wornu stated that if investigations have confirmed that the incident was due to technical reasons, then those responsible for the aircraft’s technical management must face the necessary punishment.

He emphasized that the situation is even more serious considering that ministers were on board and lost their lives, and that the President himself was initially scheduled to be part of the flight.

According to him, this makes it imperative for those in charge of the helicopter’s maintenance and safety to have ensured that the aircraft was properly prepared before takeoff.

“If the investigation has proven that it is technical, then the people responsible for technicalities should be punished accordingly. To the extent that ministers were on board and lost their lives—and even the President was to be on board too—those in charge of the helicopter should have made sure the flight was properly prepared,” he said.
