President John Dramani Mahama has directed the Auditor-General to conduct a comprehensive forensic audit into the financial and operational aspects of the 13th All-African Games.

The exercise will focus on several critical areas, including procurement and contracting processes—examining how tenders were conducted, contractors and suppliers selected, and whether procedures complied with the Public Procurement Act (Act 663) as amended.

It will also assess financial management and expenditure control by reviewing all funding sources, disbursements, spending patterns, and any sponsorships or subventions linked to the Games.

Infrastructure and project delivery will form another key component of the audit, evaluating project implementation, cost variations, timelines, and whether the outcomes represented value for money.

The audit will further verify asset management and post-Games utilisation to ensure that all assets procured or constructed are properly inventoried, ownership confirmed, and current condition established.

Additionally, it will review institutional oversight and coordination, assessing how the various agencies and committees responsible for planning and executing the Games carried out their mandates.

The Auditor-General is expected to submit the final report to the President by the second week of December 2025.
