TEPAS Begins 62nd Intersectional Sports Competition

TEPAS Begins 62nd Intersectional Sports Competition
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The Tema Parents’ Association School has commenced its 62nd Intersectional Sports Competition, a three-day event, to enhance and unearth raw talents.

According to Odiamono Kwaku Gyimah’s interview with Solomon D. Kugre, the school’s Physical Education Officer, the competition features various athletic events, including sprint, middle and distance events, high jump, and javelin throws. These events help identify talents for inter-school competitions, attracting scouts and coaches.

“The academic calendar is divided into three terms. The first term focuses on athletics, the second term on school events like inter-house and inter-school competitions, and the third term on games like football, volleyball, and basketball, starting from lower primaries. Consequently, we have been invited to participate in the Ghana Inter-School Festival 2025, scheduled to take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium. Our pupils are exposed to the sporting world, with some even competing abroad, making waves in Texas. Our short-term goal is to keep them fit and active, preventing frequent illnesses and hospitalisation. And our long-term goal is not to sideline the sports-oriented and gifted ones but to prepare them for the sporting world,” he disclosed.
