An NDC Communicator for the Ashaiman Constituency, George Asabre, has commended the Attorney General for his cautious and thorough approach in handling corruption-related cases.
He noted that from the very beginning, the Attorney General made it clear that he would not rush through any case but would ensure that investigations were well-grounded with solid evidence before prosecution.
Reacting to the recent development where the former Deputy Director of the National Service Authority (NSA), Gifty Oware, has been charged with stealing, Mr. Asabre said the move shows that the Attorney General has gathered credible evidence to proceed confidently.
“Ghanaians have been worried because many corruption cases come up and eventually fade away. But now that the Attorney General has taken his time and brought this charge, I believe he has strong proof,” Mr. Asabre remarked.
He further expressed optimism that the Attorney General will take steps to fast-track this particular case, while urging that other corruption cases should also be handled swiftly to rebuild public trust in the justice system.
