The fourth edition of the Plan B FM Inter-Community Soccer Gala ended successfully at the Tema Community 2 Mexico School Astro Turf on Sunday, September 14, 2025, with Blessed Street Boys (BSB) of Tema Community 4 emerging as champions.
They defeated Jada Foods of Tema Community 22, 4-2 on penalties, after an electrifying finale which ended 0-0 in regulation time.
BSB walked away with a giant trophy, medals, a set of jerseys, and a cash prize of GHC12,000.
Thirty-two teams participated in the four-week tournament, which kicked off on Saturday, August 23, 2025, showcasing splendid performances throughout.
The first runner-up, Jada Foods, received GHC6,000, medals, and a set of jerseys. Third-placed Express FC also took home GHC4,000 and medals.
Both finalists remained resolute in defense to avoid conceding, forcing penalties to decide the winner.
Hundreds of fans trooped to the venue to watch the finals after weeks of thrilling football action.
Individual awards were also presented: Goalkeeper Peter of Jada Foods was named Best Goalkeeper; Adriano of Jada Foods won the Top Scorer award with three goals; while Mahrez of BSB was crowned Best Player of the tournament.
Mahrez additionally received GHC1,000 from Mr. Kojo Fianoo, former GHALCA chairman and current board member of Accra Great Olympics, for his outstanding performances.
Young Stars Macdellar from the Volta Region received the Fair Play award for their good display of sportsmanship. All 32 teams received footballs as consolation prizes for their participation.
Speaking during the closing ceremony, Mrs. Comfort Aniagyei, CEO of Free Minds Communication Limited (owners of Plan B FM), said the competition was aimed at bringing communities together and identifying talents to help develop football in Ghana.
She expressed appreciation to all participating teams, stressing that the gala was not only to unify communities but also to unearth hidden talents and encourage them to contribute to national football development.
The FA boss for the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA), Dasebre Adu, also commended Plan B FM management for such a brilliant initiative to unearth and nurture football talent.
The ceremony featured thrilling performances from hip-life sensation and rap queen Eno Barony, who entertained fans with several of her hit songs, including Sojo Go, Sojo Come, Heavy Load, Fear Woman, and Deedew.
