ORAL Is Working, Just Be Patient With The Attorney-General – Martin Kpebu

Criminal Syndicate Comment: Martin Kpebu Retracts And Apologises To President Akufo-Addo
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Private legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu, has assured Ghanaians that the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative is yielding results, and urged the public to exercise patience with the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice.

His comments came in response to concerns raised by sections of the public, including some legal practitioners, who have called on the office of the Attorney-General to take up ORAL-related cases.

Speaking on The Citizen Show with Nana Kwabena Bobie Ansah on Accra 100.5 FM on Tuesday, September 9, Mr. Kpebu disclosed that several ORAL cases are currently before the Attorney-General, and by extension, the courts.

He expressed optimism that the outcomes of these cases will eventually be made public.

He further appealed to Ghanaians to exercise patience, stressing that the Special Prosecutor and the Attorney-General are working on these matters and that, in due course, the public will be duly informed.

Meanwhile, lead convener of Democracy Hub and private legal practitioner, Oliver Barker-Vormawor, disagreed with Mr. Kpebu’s position, insisting that the ORAL initiative is larger than an individual and needs the government’s full support

Mr. Barker-Vormawor further argued that the government only prioritises issues it considers important, and unfortunately, ORAL does not appear to be among its top priorities.
