Residents in parts of the Greater Accra Region should brace for an eight-hour power outage on Monday, July 21, 2025, as the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) embarks on planned maintenance works aimed at improving electricity supply.
The scheduled maintenance, which will begin at 9am and end at 5pm, is expected to affect multiple suburbs, including Santana, Alajo, Tesano, Oyarifa Ankonam, Special Gardens, Oyarifa White House, Teiman, Glefe, and Wiaboman, as well as surrounding areas.
In a public notice issued on Saturday, July 19, ECG explained that the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to enhance service reliability and infrastructure resilience across the capital. The company emphasised that while the maintenance works may cause temporary inconvenience, they are crucial to ensuring a stable and efficient power distribution system in the long term.
“ECG will undertake planned maintenance works to improve service delivery,” the statement read. “We regret the inconvenience caused to affected customers.”
While ECG has assured that power will be restored promptly after the maintenance window, residents and businesses in the listed areas are being urged to plan accordingly to minimise disruption to their daily activities.
