Prophet Ebenezer Dunamis, the esteemed Head Pastor of the Army of God Revival Centre, has issued a stern warning to litigious church members, cautioning that they will face expulsion from the church if they continue to engage in lawsuits.
In a candid interview on Plan B FM’s Nyansapɔ Fie show, with hostess Nana Asabea, Prophet Dunamis stressed that he will not tolerate members who resort to litigation, potentially destabilising the church and undermining its unity.
According to Prophet Dunamis, such behaviour is unacceptable and will not be condoned within his congregation. He believes that church members should resolve disputes and disagreements internally, rather than seeking external resolution through the courts. By taking a firm stance against litigious members, Prophet Dunamis aims to maintain a harmonious and cohesive community within the church.
“The issue is not about the law courts; it’s about the influence that litigious members can have on others in the church,” Prophet Dunamis explained. “When members take others to court, it can create divisions and undermine the unity of the church. I will not hesitate to sack any member who decides to take fellow members to court.”
Prophet Dunamis revealed that he has already taken action against a litigious member in the past, sacking them from the church. “I’ve done it before, and I’ll do it again if necessary,” he said firmly.
However, Lady Marilyn Abeka-Daniels, an adjunct lecturer at the University of Media, Arts and Communication, Institute of Journalism (UNIMAC-IJ), offers a differing perspective. She advocates for a more nuanced approach, suggesting that litigious members should be monitored and mentored rather than expelled.
“Sometimes, people are strict in dealing with litigious ones because they don’t understand their perspectives,” Lady Abeka-Daniels explains. “But it’s essential to recognise that these individuals may have legitimate concerns that need to be addressed. By engaging with them and providing guidance, we can help them channel their energies positively and constructively.”
