A pharmacist, Mohammed Zibrim Zia-Ulhak, was shot and killed in his private vehicle in Bolgatanga, in the Upper East Region. According to sources, the incident occurred around 10 to 11 p.m. at the Tindonsobligo community. He was reportedly returning home after closing from work on Thursday night.

Residents in the Tindonsobligo area suddenly heard gunshots coming from the direction of his vehicle. They rushed outside after a few minutes but the perpetrators had already fled. Mr. Mohammed Zibrim was found dead in his white pickup truck, with bullet holes visible on the windshield and other parts of the vehicle.

He has since been buried in Bolgatanga according to Islamic tradition. When GBCNews contacted the Regional Police Public Relations Officer, David Fianko-Okyere, about the incident, he said investigations are ongoing to determine the true cause of the tragic event.

This shooting adds to the growing number of murder cases recorded in Bolgatanga and its environs in recent months.
