NPP’s Richard Anning Warns of Upcoming FSHS Levy, Slams NDC’s “Deception”

“People You Perceive to Be Corrupt Must Be Sent to Court, Not Social Media” – Richard Anning to AG

Richard Yaw Anning, NPP communicator for the constituency of Tema Central, has predicted the introduction of a new levy to fund the Free Senior High School (FSHS) programme in the forthcoming mid-year budget.

On Plan B FM’s popular programme, Nkɔsoɔnsɛm, hosted by Obidehyeɛ Kofi Sekyi, Anning accused the NDC of deception, claiming the levy is part of their hidden agenda.

“Ghanaians must prepare for a new FSHS levy or risk cancellation,” Anning warned.

He criticised the NDC’s track record, citing the party’s past actions, including then former President Mahama-led administration’s take-or-pay power contracts that burdened Ghanaians with significant debt.

Anning’s comments come amid controversy over the NDC’s recent GH₵1 petroleum levy, sparking heated debate about the potential impact on education and the economy. As the government prepares to unveil its mid-year budget, all eyes are on the Ministry of Finance to see if Anning’s prediction comes to pass.
