The National Labour Commission (NLC) has officially welcomed Dr. Bernice Anowa Welbeck as the new Acting Executive Secretary of the Commission.
In a statement issued on Friday, April 25, the Members of the Commission, along with its Management and Staff, congratulated Dr. Welbeck, describing her appointment as well-deserved and timely.
“The Members of the Commission, Management, and Staff are delighted to extend their heartfelt congratulations to you on your well-deserved appointment as the Acting Executive Secretary of the National Labour Commission. We wish you success and excellence in this new role,” the statement read.
Dr. Welbeck brings to the role a wealth of experience in public administration, with specialised expertise in labour administration, policy governance, human resources management, employee relations, general administration, leadership, and organisational management.She is also an expert in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), a seasoned HR specialist, and a respected management consultant. As an educator and trainer, Dr. Welbeck has dedicated 34 years to the civil and public service, contributing significantly to national development.
Her academic credentials are equally impressive, with 21 years of experience as a trainer and facilitator and 12 years as a lecturer at the graduate level. She is widely recognised for her strong skills in curriculum development and instructional design.
Dr. Welbeck teaches a broad range of courses, including Leadership and Organisational Development, Strategic Human Resource Management, Industrial and Labour Relations, Negotiations and Conflict Resolution, Public Administration, and International Relations.
