Former NPP PC For Sefwi Akontombra Resigns

NPP To Hold National Annual Delegates Conference

Mr Appiah-Kubi Baidoo, a former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate(PC) for the Sefwi Akontombra Constituency in the Western North Region, has officially resigned from the party, citing longstanding issues of maltreatment and neglect.

In a resignation statement addressed to party executives and made available to the media, Mr. Baidoo expressed deep disappointment over what he described as years of being sidelined and unappreciated despite his contributions to the party’s growth in the constituency.

“I have endured years of maltreatment, neglect, and a lack of recognition from the very party I have loyally served,” he stated. “After deep reflection, I believe it is time to part ways.”

Mr. Baidoo contested the Sefwi Akontombra seat on the NPP’s ticket in a previous election cycle, where he played a significant role in mobilising grassroots support and building the party’s presence in the area.

His departure is seen by some as a significant loss to the party’s efforts in the Western North Region, especially as the 2028 elections draw closer.

While he has not immediately declared his next political move, his resignation adds to growing concerns about internal party cohesion ahead of the polls.

Party officials in the region are yet to publicly respond to his resignation.
