Fetish Priests Storm Tema Metropolitan Assembly

Fetish Priests Storm Tema Metropolitan Assembly
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A dramatic scene unfolded at the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) on Monday, April 14, 2025, when a group of fetish priests from Tema Newtown performed incantations and sacrifices at the entrance of the TMA premises. Clad in red, the priests marched to the assembly, but upon finding the gates locked, they conducted their rituals at the entrance.

Speaking in an interview with Plan B FM’s Ebaanosen, hosted by Ohene Kinnah, Hon. Charles Amos, Assembly Member for the Padmore Electoral Area, said the ritual — which took place around 4:45 p.m. — was intended to demand that an indigene of Tema be appointed as Mayor of the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA).

According to the priests, their actions were meant to draw attention to their cause and ensure that their demands were taken seriously. They argued that electing a native of Tema as Mayor would benefit the local community and address longstanding concerns.
