Kumasi: 125 Stolen ECG Cable Pieces Intercepted In Kotei

Kumasi: 125 Stolen ECG Cable Pieces Intercepted In Kotei
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A total of 125 stolen cable pieces belonging to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have been intercepted in Kotei, a suburb of Kumasi.

The operation was led by the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator, Captain (Retired) John Kwame Jabari, in collaboration with local security agencies. The cables were discovered concealed within an uncompleted building in the area.

Captain Jabari, who was appointed as the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator in January 2025, has been instrumental in enhancing security operations within the region.

His leadership has been pivotal in addressing various security challenges, including the rampant theft of electrical cables.

The interception of the stolen cables in Kotei underscores the ongoing challenges faced by the ECG and security agencies in curbing infrastructure theft. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help protect the nation’s electrical infrastructure.
