Minority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament (MP) for Nsawam Adoagyiri, Frank Annoh-Dompreh has once again sought to cause a confusion in parliament.

During the budget discussion on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, Annoh-Dompreh sought to disrupt parliamentary proceedings on the account that the House’s sitting had entered late into the night.

Initially, Annoh-Dompreh sought to get the 1st Deputy Speaker, Bernard Ahiafor to adjourn parliamentary proceedings as the house was still in session as at 10:00pm. When the speaker refused to heed to his calls, Annoh-Dompreh chose to throw a tantrum on the floor of the House.

“We are exhausted, minister we are tired. Let’s go and let’s adjourn. Tomorrow when we come, we will be stronger and then we can do more of this. We are so tired otherwise,” he stated.

He proceeded to quote article 102 and 104, fortifying them with order 64 on the standing orders of Parliament.

When his requests still went unmet as the Majority however wanted proceedings to continue, Annoh Dompreh could be heard telling other MPs in the Minority caucus, “Charley let’s all stand up. Let us disrupt the proceedings. What is that, we are tired…we have been here since morning.”

Frank Annoh-Dompreh has made a name for himself as being a disruptive force in the minority side.

During the vetting on Ministerial nominees earlier this year, he was caught on video challenging a fellow MP on the majority side over the vetting of Minister for Foreign Affairs-designate, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Minister for Health-designate, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh.

he Appointments Committee was scheduled to vet three (3) ministerial nominees but latter compromised to vet five (5). However, the majority wanted to vet Okudzeto Ablakwa and Mintah Akandoh who were not scheduled.

The minority vehemently opposed this as the demanded the vetting end with the Minister of Transport-designate, Joseph Nikpe.

The two sides of the House engaged in a heated argument.

It was during this argument that Annoh-Dompreh boldly told a colleague MP on the majority side to his face, “Who are you! It is not happening.”

He also ordered his colleagues in the minority to dismantle tables being used for the vetting, which eventually resulted in the destruction of tables, microphones, chairs and other logistics in the vetting hall.

Following this destruction, Annoh-Dompreh and some other MPs were suspended for their involvement in the vetting chaos.
