A fatal accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway has claimed the lives of five people near Duayaw Nkwanta in the Ahafo Region.

The crash, which occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26, 2025, involved a Toyota RAV4 and a Kia truck.

According to an eyewitness, Mr. Asamoah, the two vehicles collided head-on, resulting in the instant death of all five occupants of the RAV4: four women and one man.

The driver and passenger of the Kia truck sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Personnel from the Ghana Police Service and the Ambulance Service in Duayaw Nkwanta and Bechem responded promptly to the scene, working to remove the deceased and manage traffic congestion.

Eyewitness reports suggest that the victims in the RAV4 were likely traveling to or returning from a funeral, as they were all dressed in black attire. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
