PS Daasebre drops bombshell: ‘Our Ancestors were misguided in worship’

PS Daasebre drops bombshell: ‘Our Ancestors were misguided in worship’

Pastor Daasebre Adu-Asare, Head Pastor of True Grace International Ministries, has sparked controversy with his assertion that Ghana’s ancestors were “misguided in worship.”

In an interview on Plan B FM’s religious programme “Nyamesom Mmerɛ,” Pastor Adu-Asare explained that the ancestors recognised one God but worshipped Him through enigmatic objects. They referred to God as “Twereduampɔn Kwame” during libation ceremonies.

Pastor Adu-Asare underscored the importance of preserving the family system as a cultural heritage. He also noted that the true method of worship was revealed with the arrival of the Portuguese and the introduction of Christianity.

Rev. Benjamin Boateng, Head Pastor of Assemblies of God Cornerstone Family Chapel, expressed concerns about the current state of Christianity. He argued that individuals are using God’s grace as an excuse to engage in sinful behaviour.

“The ‘leave it to God’ mantra is harming us and disgracing our Lord God,” Rev. Boateng added.

Prophet Ebenezer Dunamis, Head Pastor of Army of God Revival Centre, lamented that God’s presence has departed from the church due to worldly desires and monetary issues.

“The church has lost its way, prioritising material wealth and luxury over spiritual integrity,” Prophet Dunamis observed.

Nana Kwaku Bonsam, a renowned fetish priest, offered a contrarian view. He argued that traditional worship practices, which emphasised accountability and divine retribution, were more effective in maintaining social order.

“Neither the Bible nor the Quran has been beneficial to us,” Nana Kwaku Bonsam asserted. “We need to return to our roots and reclaim our traditional values and practices.”
