Our electoral defeat was not spiritual – Eugene Boakye to Justin Kodua

Our electoral defeat was not spiritual – Eugene Boakye to Justin Kodua

Former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Subin Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Eugene Boakye Antwi, has urged members, supporters, and sympathizers of the (NPP) to remain resolute and optimistic about the party’s recovery ahead of the 2028 general elections, despite the unprecedented loss in the 2024 elections.

Speaking on United Television’s (UTV) Mpu ne Mpu show, hosted by Yaa Konama on January 24, 2025, Eugene Antwi responded to a question regarding the NPP’s defeat, particularly in light of General Secretary Justin Kodua’s claim that spiritual factors were responsible.

Eugene Antwi disagreed with this view, emphasizing that elections are determined by science, data, and strategy-not spirituality.

He pointed to several factors that he had previously highlighted both before and after the elections, which he believes contributed to the party’s loss. “Our electoral defeat is not spiritual at all; there’s more to it,” he asserted.
