Assembly member unlocks Old Tafo R/C Basic School after contractor locked up the school over debts

Assembly member unlocks Old Tafo R/C Basic School after contractor locked up the school over debts

The Assembly member for Kwame Senti Electoral Area in the old Tafo Municipality of the Ashanti Region, Kwame Boateng has unlocked the old Tafo R/C Basic School after one contractor drove out pupils from their classrooms and locked up the building over government’s inability to settle monies owed him for putting up the school structure.

According to the Assembly Man, the contractor should have used proper channels to address his grievances.

He added that once the school is located in his Electoral Area, the contractor should have engaged him before taking action against the school.

“if something had happened to the pupils on their way home after they were sent out of the classroom, who would have taken responsibility?” he asked.

One, Thomas Akwasi Frimpong, of Atofis Company Limited stormed Old Tafo R/C Basic School on Monday to drive out pupils from their classrooms to lock up the building claiming the government has failed to honour payment after putting up the school structure.
