Alhaji Mohammed Boateng, the National Democratic Party’s (NDP) presidential candidate, was ambushed by armed robbers while his convoy was leaving his village of Namasa in the Bono Region’s Tain District for a rally.

Evans Mensah, the NDP’s Bono Regional Chairman, who was accompanying the chairman and his group, said that the incident happened on the Nsawkaw-Wenchi road at approximately 8:00 p.m. as they were en route to Sunyani.

Their windscreens were damaged, and the body of their vehicles was covered in gunshots, but no casualties were reported.

For additional investigation, the case has been referred to the Wenchi police station.
